Throughout our Good Friday broadcast on Newstalk ZB we crossed live back 2000 years to news reports from the day of Jesus’ crucifixion.

We imagined a fictitious radio network broadcasting in the day that would have sounded a lot like on Newstalk ZB.

Since Jesus was 33 years old at his execution, we altered the radio call sign to reflect the year, temporarily rebranding the station Newstalk 33AD.

We even incorporated known voices from Newstalk ZB as characters including newsreader Bernadine Oliver-Kerby, reporter Hannah Bartlett, and political commentator Barry Soper.

Each short episode played every hour of the day from 7:30am to 4:30pm reporting in “real time” the events that would have taken place throughout the original Good Friday.
