Pio and Dayna on the Redemption Roadtrip
Television hosts Pio Terei and Dayna Vawdrey hit the road for three days to record our “Redemption Roadtrip”.
They stopped off in five locations to chat with a handful of remarkable kiwis who are bringing a sense of redemption to the communities with which they are involved.

In Rimutaka prison, Dayna and Pio met up with celebrity chef Martin Bosley who trains inmates to cook giving them opportunities for legitimate work once they are released.

Driving on to the Horowhenua, the pair met up with Allen Little who sang the praises of Levin’s local library, Te Takere, which fosters greater community connection – particularly amongst the elderly.
Sam Chapman in Turangi
In Turangi, Pio and Dayna stayed with Sam Chapman who won the Kiwibank Local Hero Award in 2010 for his work in the community. Sam’s open home policy and commitment to radical grace meant they also had a notorious convicted criminal come to dinner.
