News in brief

  • Our podcasts continue to earn industry recognition with Grey Areas taking home Gold in the Best Entertainment category at the NZ Podcast Awards. Excitingly, Are You Mental?, a mental health podcast CBA helps produce, won two awards of its own: Silver for Best Independent Podcast and Bronze for Best Health and Wellbeing.

  • In February, we hosted listeners of Grey Areas at Q Theatre in Auckland for an inspirational live podcast recording. With help from a panel of experts, Petra Bagust facilitated a hope-filled discussion about women’s wellbeing, ageing purposefully and building life-giving relationships.

  • Thanks to your backing, members of Salt, our network of Christians working in media, had a unique chance to upskill. In February, UK-based film producer Luke Walton ran a virtual masterclass teaching Salties the tools to pitch their ideas more effectively.

  • Over the Christmas period, seven articles were published in mainstream media outlets expounding on the true reason for the season, facilitated by CBA’s xvox initiative. Wellington Bishop Justin Duckworth wrote for the NZ Herald on the messy reality of the nativity story and Rev Scottie Reeve penned a series of four poignant articles for The Post charting each theme of Advent.
